Legendary: Heroes Unchained (LHU) is the sequel to the popular Legendary game franchise, developed by N3TWORK Studios. The latest installment in the Legendary franchise incorporates NFT heroes into its core gameplay mechanics,  focusing on making fiat and crypto transactions a seamless experience for players. Built on the Base blockchain, the game features an open marketplace ecosystem powered by Forte Pay that enables players to buy, sell, and trade NFT heroes with ease.

The Challenge 

N3TWORK Studios aimed to introduce frictionless payments for their on-chain assets, ensuring legacy players could easily engage without the typical barriers associated with Web3.  To achieve this, they needed to eliminate the transaction obstacles that typically prevent mainstream gaming audiences from engaging with blockchain-based games while providing users the payment flexibility they expected.

Supporting both crypto and fiat payments across primary and secondary marketplace purchases would traditionally require multiple vendor relationships and complex integrations, creating operational overhead and inefficiencies for N3TWORK. 

These payment options also needed to be seamlessly integrated into the immersive game experience, while still providing users with the ease and protection they expect. For N3TWORK, maintaining player immersion and engagement was critical for their payment solution.

Through Forte Pay, LHU offers both fiat and crypto support for primary and secondary marketplace purchases, allowing users to pay with the traditional fiat payment methods they’re familiar with or crypto options, including USDC, ETH and BTC, as well as fiat support for secondary marketplace purchases. 

Forte Pay’s infrastructure also handles the fulfillment of NFT transfers. A successful transaction on LHU’s marketplaces triggers minting from a player’s smart contract and delivery of NFTs to the end-user’s waller.
