Forte Rules Engine

A blockchain-based proof-of-attendance system transforms traditional location-based marketing and loyalty programs by converting physical rewards into digital ones, enhancing brand engagement. By rewarding authentic brand interactions with collectible, nontransferable digital badges earned through verified physical presence at specific locations, this approach establishes a new framework for tokenized customer loyalty programs.

Stamply leveraged the Rules Engine to create customizable rewards systems for genuine participants, adaptable to brand strategies and seasonal campaigns, while also establishing guardrails to protect against exploitation. With loyalty data stored transparently on-chain, Stamply utilizes tokenized rewards to link users' real-world experiences with their digital assets.

The Challenge

Traditional loyalty programs operate in isolated silos, preventing brands from creating interconnected experiences that follow customers across touchpoints. While digital engagement offers convenience, it lacks verification of authentic interactions, making programs vulnerable to exploitation. Tokenization creates new opportunities to bridge physical and digital experiences, but current implementations face barriers that make it hard for participants to fully engage with tokenized experiences.

Without reliable methods to verify authentic physical presence at brand experiences, loyalty programs struggle to differentiate between genuine customer interactions and become vulnerable to exploitation.  These challenges make it difficult to ensure that projects are rewarding real users for authentic engagement.

Traditional loyalty systems lack the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business needs, seasonal campaigns, or customer behavior patterns. Brands need the ability to modify reward structures, implement time-sensitive promotions, and create milestone celebrations without extensive development cycles or system downtime.

To address these challenges, Stamply introduced a tokenized brand initiative that combines physical presence verification with on-chain rewards.

The Approach

  • Soulbound NFTs that serve as location-verified rewards

  • Rules Engine powered safeguards

  • On-chain analytics and insights

  • Dynamic rewards mechanics

Stamply connects users' real-world experiences to the blockchain with unique NFT rewards, minted based on verified visits to real-world locations. Users open the Stamplymobile app, tap an NFC-enabled plaque at participating locations, and receive a unique, nontransferable NFT - like a digital travel stamp - linked to their wallet identity. This creates an immutable record of authentic brand interactions.

The non-transferable nature of these digital stamps ensures that each reward represents genuine user engagement, ensuring the loyalty data reflects actual customer behavior patterns. Stamply used the Rules Engine to further protect against spam and exploitation by enforcing a daily claim limit per user, preventing automated collection loopholes. These guardrails help ensure that projects are connecting with real users.

Time-stamped proof-of-attendance provides brands with accurate, verifiable loyalty data stored transparently on-chain.  This gives projects visit patterns, retention metrics, and cross-location engagement analytics that help brands understand customer behaviors and optimize their experience and rewards.

The Rules Engine's configurable nature allowed Stamply to implement custom and changeable rewards and promotions for users without requiring contract redeployment. They used the Forte infrastructure to deliver milestone badges and unique rewards at key visitor thresholds, such as the 20th visitor to a location. This enables projects to launch new campaigns quickly, adjust reward structures, and respond to market conditions without requiring contract changes or additional developer resources.

The Future

The next generation of customer engagement will seamlessly integrate physical and digital brand experiences, creating comprehensive customer journeys that span both worlds. Stamply's location-based tokenization platform bridges the physical and digital worlds, positioning brands within the tokenized economy where meaningful interactions become verifiable digital assets that connect projects with users in an integrated manner.

Forte's Rules Engine provides the foundational infrastructure that makes this possible, with operational guardrails that protect program integrity while enabling real-time on-chain adjustments to engagement mechanics without system downtime. The Forte Rules Engine and Stamply enable brands to enter the tokenized economy, transforming meaningful interactions into verifiable digital assets.
